A Murti in our temples has Prana, because all Murti in Hindu Temples are Prana-Pratisthit -- so we worship Prana. Prana is a energy which flows from the Murti to every side, when we do Pradakshina / Parikrama of a Murti in clockwise direction we receive that energy in our physical body and subtle body as well. This energy is so divine and pure, it purifies our aura and recharges us.
People do Pradakshina like 3 times, 7 times, 11, 51 or 108 times.
Why don't we do Pradakshina in anti-clockwise direction?
In our body right-half-part is of Sun (Surya Nadi) and second left-half-part is of Moon (Chandra Nadi). So when we do Pradakshina in clockwise direction our Surya Nadi receives energy first (emanating from the Murti), and becomes purer and stronger. When our Surya Nadi becomes stronger, many of our physical and mental problems start getting solved.
Pradakshina in anti-clockwise direction isn't considered good, as Chandra Nadi will come first and Surya Nadi will be left behind. All purpose of Pradakshina is to recharge our Surya Nadi first as it can handle coming flow of energy from the Murti. Though subsequently our Chandra Nadi will also be charged but not with direct confrontation as it is much delicate than Surya Nadi.
