In Hindu religion, you can take God / Goddess in any form that suits you — and you are supposed to be bounded by that rule.
Swami - Sevak : example, lord Hanuman.
Brother - Brother : many people worship lord Hanuman as their elder brother.
Brother - Sister : God as a brother.
Father - Child: Dhruv.
Child - Mother: Koshalya, Devaki and others. Worshiping lord Krishna as Bal-Gopal is an example of this.
Friend - Friend: Arjun.
Husband - Wife: Gopis, Radha and Meera. Even some men play as a woman and call for God.
Enemy - Enemy: Ravan.
Veer Bhaav Sadhana: Tantra.
In Tantra people think about Shakti, as Mother, Sister or Wife. Some choose Her as a Mother, some as a Sister and some as a Wife. It's a different choice for different people.
