Sharad Purnima For Wealth, Health & Romance

Sharad Purnima is also called कोजागरी, or इदली. This festival falls on Kwar Sudi Purnima. This day mothers do Vrat and Puja for health & long life of their children. Also other deities are worshiped as well, such as Lakshmi and Narayan.

Moon and Earth

This day Moon comes closer to Earth, Moonlight is supposed to be the brightest this day. This can be enjoyed with open sky and without any artificial light. Beach-side becomes too attractive when Moon shines to its highest.

Health

At night people often put Kheer (खीर) for the moon light to fall on it — and next day they take it as prasada. Some Vaidya (वैद्य) also put their medicines to be charged with Moonlight. यह भी कहा जाता है की शरद पूर्णिमा की रात में, चन्द्रमा के उजाले में, जो व्यक्ति सुई में चार छः बार धागा डाल देता है, उसकी आँखों की रौशनी अच्छी बनी रहती है।

Romance

It is said, this day at night in Moonlight, lord Krishna did Rasleela with his Gopis. So people who lack love in their life, can worship lord Krishna with Gopis.

Sharad Purnima Ki Katha

A woman used to do Vrat and Puja on Sharad Purnima, thus many years have passed. She was enjoying it and doing it with her full devotion. Once accidently she touched a dead child, as she touched the child came to life. And it was believed it was due to her Sharad Purnima Vrat.

Sharad Purnima Ka Udyapan

Its Udyapan is done after observing Vrat (fast) for consecutive 13 times. In Udyapan Puja, Havan, Dan-Dakshina, and so forth happens. It means our commitment is done, and we are celebrating for it.

Essential Nyas For A Sadhak To Do Everyday

Nyas means to establish something (Devi / Devta energy) in our body: it purifies our body and makes our body and mind worthy of chanting a mantra / stotra. A Sadhak should do भूत-शुद्धि, बहिर्मातृका न्यास, अन्तर्मातृका न्यास, and षोढा-न्यास daily, 'coz we worship Devta by becoming a Devta, and in that Nyas helps us a lot. Why Two Types Of Navratri Are More Popular

Navratri comes four times in a year: 1) In Chitra (Vasant) Maas, 2) In Sharad (Ashwin) Maas, 3) In Ashadha (आषाढ़) Maas, and 4) in Magh Maas.
