This mantra is often chanted to beat away the poverty from the home. This is ritualistic where people imagine “poverty” and other kinds of negativity are going away and home is getting purer and cleaner to attract goddess Lakshmi.

देवी भगवती लक्ष्मी आई, तज घर मेरा और जा भाग ॥
डंडा बजाऊ मार लगाऊ नहीं तो जा अब भाग ॥

Mantra to attract Lakshmi:

Now, when the poverty is out, the presence of Lakshmi is invoked ‘coz both poverty and goddess Lakshmi can’t live at one place.

विष्णु प्रिया है सिंधु सुरा तुम आओ ॥
निर्भय मन निश्चिन्त हो करो निवास ॥
